How to Determine Correct Weight Distribution System for 2015 R-Pod 178

In order to choose the best weight distribution system you will first need to know your total tongue weight (TTW), which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go 2015 R-Pod 178 plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your 2009 Ford F-150.

The tongue weight is typically between 10% and 15% of your trailer's GVWR but you'll want to verify it by using a scale such as the etrailer Tongue Weight Scale # e99044 or by using one of the methods outlined in the help article on determining tongue weight I've linked for you. From there, simply add on the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle and you'll have your TTW. The ideal system would be one in which your TTW falls somewhere in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity.

I looked up the specs of your 2015 R-Pod 178 and it has a GVWR of about 3,750 lbs so it will likely have a tongue weight in the range of 450 lbs to 500 lbs without any cargo behind your F-150's rear axle. For that a great option would be the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # FA92-00-0600 as it would be in the middle of the system's 250 lb to 600 lb tongue weight capacity.

If you were more in the 550 lb to 600 lb capacity you would need the Fastway # FA92-00-0800 which has a tongue weight capacity of between 400 lbs and 800 lbs.

Either of these will be the perfect option for you once you know your total tongue weight. They come with everything you need for install except for the hitch ball, either 2" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6080 or 2-5/16" ball # EQ91-00-6100. It is also recommended you use thin-walled socket # EQ70-00-4800 to help make installation of the hitch ball easier.
