Do Appearance Panels Get Re-Installed on 2017 Nissan Rogue When Putting On etrailer Trailer Hitch

Question:

I watched the install video. It said you get rid of the tow hook, but didn’t cover reinstalling the plastic under bumper parts. Do those go back on?

The plastic parts are just "appearance" panels, and won't be re-installed after putting the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch # E98846 on your 2017 Nissan Rogue. These panels do not serve any specific function for your Rogue and as such can be put aside after installing the hitch. As you can see from the accompanying photo of the hitch installed on a '17 Rogue, they don't won't affect the overall appearance of your car (save for someone going underneath it).

If you plan on using this hitch for towing you'll need a wiring harness to power your trailer's lights, and the most reliable option for your '17 Rogue is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118480. I've added a link to a video of this harness being installed on a 2017 Rogue for you to check out. I also highly recommend using Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors # 11755 to help prevent any type of corrosion in your connector; using it will increase your 4-way's durability and extend its lifespan.

For a ball mount, I recommend checking out the Rapid Hitch Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount Kit w/ 2 Zinc Balls - 4" Drop or Rise, # AM3462 which gives you up to 4" of rise. This ball mount can be adjusted in 1” increments to ensure you can tow level, and it comes with a 1-7/8" hitch ball and 2" hitch ball to pair with your trailer's coupler.
