Question:
How would I convert this 4 pin to a 7 pin? I have a light trailer, but it has brakes.

To convert the Curt 4-Way Harness # C56375 on your 2019 Chevy Equinox to a 7-Way connector you will just need the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This will plug right into the existing 4-Way and it includes all the extra wiring, circuit breakers, ring terminals, and connector bracket required for installation. This will give you a fully functional 7-Way connector that you can use with a brake controller to power the camper's brakes.
I have attached the written installation instructions that you can take a look at as well.
If you don't yet have a brake controller I recommend taking a look at the Curt Echo # C51180. This unique controller allows for an extremely simple install process that consists of just inserting the controller itself to the new 7-Way on your Equinox and pairing it to your smart phone via Bluetooth. And that's it. Since your phone is what you use to adjust any settings or activate the manual override, you don't need to add an additional component in the cab like with most other controllers. Its integrated accelerometer will automatically send power back to the trailer brakes in proportion to your rate of deceleration (the harder you brake, the more power it sends).
I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
