To select a cushioned equalizer for your trailer suspension to replace the standard equalizer you'll use the mounting hole spacing on your original part as a guide. The part # K71-652-00 that you referenced replaces a Dexter part 13-104 and its hole spacing can be seen in the linked photo. Your equalizers should also have a part number visible.

This item actually offers a 1-inch range of compatibility, from 5-1/4 to 6-1/4-inches on hole centers. You'll also want to note the axle weight ratings which you'll usually find on a sticker on the axle beam itself. Part # K71-652-00 works for axles rated up to 6K each.

The similar Lippert Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizer # LC279688 works for axles rated from 6K to 8K and it has wider hole spacing of 7-1/2-inches as shown in the photo.
