Recommendation to Take Out Play in Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System

Question:

I have a Blue ox SwayPro. The 2 inch shank seems loose in the trucks receiver. It’s not a 2 1/2 in receiver, but it’s rather more than 2 in, maybe an 1/8 in to big. With a 9 in shank length, this give it a fair amount of play. Any thoughts on this. Also can you recommend a better system for attaching the shank in the receiver. As opposed to the pin and cotter pin that usually comes with the hitch. Thanks

We do have a variety of anti-rattle devices that you can use with the Blue Ox SwayPro weight distribution. I recommend using the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp # GY88XR because it uses a wedge to take up the slack as opposed to clamping the shank against the receiver. I reached out to my contact at Gen-Y who said that this is an excellent option for weight distribution systems.

For a hitch pin that is an upgrade to the pin and clip that comes with the SwayPro I recommend the Locking Hitch Pin # e98880. Not only will it secure your system to your trailer hitch, but it also deters theft of your SwayPro since it has the locking feature.
