Vintage Wheel and Tire Combination Replacement on 1964 Aloha Camper

Question:

I have a 1964 Aloha 15’ camper I just bought. It has car tires on it and I want to replace the whole assembly. Everything I’ve read says to go with a ST205/75R15. This issue is that I can’t find them with a smaller pilot hole. They all have 3.19” and my camper is about 2.75”. I read one of your suggestions on lug nut vs. hub assembly but it just confused me more. I’ve attached a photo to maybe help. Do you carry the correct wheel/tire assembly in black?

Expert Reply:

Trailer tires will naturally have a larger pilot hole. Because you are looking for a vintage look, I recommend getting the Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w 15" Wheel with +.5 Offset - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C # AM32352 and then adding the baby moon wheel cap # AM90086.

The lug nuts will hold the wheel and tire in place and then the baby moon will cover the hub completely so you don't need to worry about the larger pilot hole appearance.
