The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is compatible with your 2006 Jeep Wrangler unless your vehicle is equipped with an active power assist braking system. Your owners manual should help you determine this but you can also contact a local Jeep dealer with your VIN for confirmation. This portable system will fit between your seat and the brake pedal to give you the desired braking function using your vehicle brake pedal.
If you do have the active power assist braking, then I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251 which will be a one time install and then will allow you to simply flip a switch when you are ready to tow. There is no further installation or adjustment needed so it is basically plug and play.
With either option, you will need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 if you are using the vehicle brake lights when towing.
