Will the Curt Hitch C12169 for a 2018 Honda CR-V Affect Fuel Economy

How much does this hitch weigh? Would it reduce mpg on my CRV because of its weight?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12169 which is a fit for your 2018 Honda CR-V weighs around 25 lbs. In theory, the more weight you add to a vehicle, the less miles per gallon (MPG's) it will have but we are talking extremely small fractions here and you would by no means notice any drop in MPG's. The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36597 which is also a fit for your 2018 Honda CR-V is a few lbs lighter but I would not let this alone be the basis for my choice as the affect on MPG's would be marginal at best.

That said, we have not heard back from any of our thousands of customers that they noticed any loss in MPG after installing a trailer hitch.
