Should Bolt-On Shock Kit be Used on Both Axles of Tandem Axle Fifth Wheel Trailer  

Question:

I want to install shock absorber on 2005 coachmen 5th wheel. do i need shocks on both axels or just front. it looks like there is a mounting bracket on the frame for the front axel, there are u bolts mounted on top of spring horizotly with about 2 inches of thread. Is this a factory mounting position. And what do i need to make it woork.

For the best performance you will want to use the Lippert Bolt-On Shock Kit on both of your tandem axles, so you would need to order two of the Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Kit w/ Heavy Duty Gas Shocks # LC281255 if your have 2-3/8" diameter axles (which are found on 3,500 lb axles) or part # LC281281 if you have 3" diameter axles (which are found on 5,200 lb to 7,000 lb axles).
