Curt Class III hitch # 13456 will fit your LR3 with a 2-inch receiver. This is a no-drill installation and you can refer to the linked instructions and the install video showing a 2006 LR3 to see the process.
For a trailer brake controller I recommend Curt's innovative wireless Echo # C51180 which offers easy plug-in installation and that lets you use it in any vehicle that has a 7-way.
If your LR3 has no wiring at all you will use 4-pole kit # C59496 along with 7-way wiring upgrade kit # ETBC7. No other parts are needed to install the controller. The Echo does require use of a compatible smartphone which will serve and both the display and the control. The phone's operating system needs to be either Apple: 8.0 or newer, or Android: 4.4 and newer. Once you install the 4-pole and the 7-way kit, all you need to do is plug the Echo into the 7-way, plug the trailer into the Echo and pair it to your phone. Please have a look at the video on the Echo's features and operation.
I also recommend universal towing mirrors to keep you apprised of other motorists and the K-Source set # KS3990 is cost-effective and easy to install.
