Troubleshooting Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Brake Assemblies that Aren't Self Adjusting
Question:
My Never-Adjust brakes dont seem to self adjust. I can have them manually adjusted and they work fine for a while. Slowly over a period of a few hundred miles I find myself increasing the brake controller output up every couple of trips until I am at the maximum setting again. I had a shop pull the wheels and take a look, but they said everything seemed OK . I have had them manually adjusted three times over a couple thousand miles. I verified that the left and right assemblies were on the correct side. What could be causing this?

That's really odd to hear. How much brake output voltage is your controller putting out at it's max setting? The only thing i can think of is that the controller is not applying enough voltage/amperage to activate adjusting mechanism. How many brake axles does your trailer have? What controller do you have? Not all brake controllers can be used with more than two brake axles. If you were using a controller only designed for tandem brake axles on a triple axle trailer the amperage may not be enough for the brakes to self adjust.
