Better Corrosion Resistance for Trailer Hitch on 2019 Toyota RAV4
Question:
2019 RAV4 - Corrosion Resistance I have read the comparison of the Curt C13416 and Draw-Tite DT82QR. Both appear to be very good hitches. My parking area is in shade and the roads in my area are heavily salted, so vehicle underside components corrode rapidly. Which of the two hitches has better corrosion resistance?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Both the Curt # C13416 and Draw-Tite # DT82QR have a protective base coat and then a powder coat finish. Both have good powder coating, so simply based on experience Curt has a tendency to have a thicker powder coat on their products, so that is my recommendation for better corrosion resistance between the two hitch options.
I also recommend using a hitch cover like # C22272 to keep excess salt out of the inside of the receiver.
