Can Lippert Bolt-On Shock Kit LC281281 Use Inboard Installation

Question:

I have 2005 Holiday Rambler Alumascape 5th wheel with a channel frame. Only have 3” of clearance between the tire and frame. Can I put the shock on the inside of the frame?

Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Kit # LC281281 can be installed "inboard" by reversing the orientation of the tie plates so that the shock mounting hole faces inward. If you refer to the linked image taken from the linked instructions you'll see the standard outward orientation of the tie plates with the shock mounting hole facing to the outside of the leaf spring. You can mount the tie plates with the shock mount facing inward for an inboard installation. My contact at Lippert confirmed this is fine so long as the rest of the installation is done according to the instructions.

Lc kit lc281281. Can two shock kits be installed on the inside of the frame on one side, and two shocks on the outside of the frame on the other side of the frame , clearance problems.

I would imagine that you're going to run into some clearance problems, not to mention that by adding that many shocks you'll likely be adding so much support to your suspension that the ride quality will be rough instead of smooth like it should be. Since this kit is designed for one shock to be used per side of the axle then I wouldn't try adding more, just make sure that the kit you get is rated for your axle weight rating.
