High/Low Adapter with an 8 Inch Drop to Flat Tow a 2012 Chevy Equinox and Bike Rack Recommendation

Question:

I need a duel 8inch 2inch receiver for a 2008 Southwind 32foot and to tow a 2012 Equinox. I was told I would need at lease a 8inch bar to level out my Blue Ox tow bar. I need a dual to use the top for a bike carrier. Are they available or can you suggest a better setup? Thank you

The dual receiver we have with the most rise or drop is # RM-077-4 that you have referenced. One of the receivers has a 4 inch drop. That is not quite enough if you need 8 inches. But there are other options.

First, you do need an 8 inch drop so that is a given, use # RM-048-8. This adapter has a 10,000 pound gross towing weight capacity and 400 pound tongue weight capacity.

What you can do is add a trunk mount bike rack to the 2012 Chevy Equinox. There are 2 and 3 bike carriers that will fit the Equinox. For a 2 bike I recommend the OutWay, # TH45JV and for 3 bikes the Raceway 3, # TH56BV. These bike racks install fast and easy with only 2 rubber-coated straps. Since the rack will be on the back of the vehicle with all 4 wheels down, you can use it for this application.
