We have everything you need to install a brake controller in your 2002 Dodge Dakota, including the wiring kit.
The first thing you'll need to add is a 4-flat connector, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118329, followed by the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which will give you a 7-way connector, circuit breakers and the rest of the hardware needed to install a brake controller. The 4-way will give you the tail light functions and will plug into the 7-way which wires to the brake controller.
The brake controller I recommend checking out is the Brake EVN Brake Controller # TK63VR because it provides smooth proportional braking for your trailer and is easy to use while remaining cost-effective compared to other units. Installing this controller in your '02 Dakota would also require the Brake Control Plug-In Harness # 20127.
I have added links to video reviews for you to check out, as well as links to a couple help articles on brake controller installation that I strongly recommend reading.
