Should 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk be in Accessory or Neutral Position for Flat Towing

Question:

Experts, I am need of assistance. I am flat towing my Jeep 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk from a BlueOx towing bar system and an RViBrake3 supplemental braking system and the additional 12V batter charger from the coach to the jeep. When the installer put everything together I asked if the Jeep, once put in the true neutral towing mode, and everything is connected if it should be in the OFF or ACC position. I dont know much about the steering and brakes of the JEEP, but can the RViBrake3 system still effectively use the brakes without the assistance of hydraulics, and will the steering system not lock if the Jeep ignition is in the OFF mode. I have only towed the Jeep once, and without guidance, I left the car in ACC accessory mode until I hear from some experts. Thanks,

According to pages 384 and 385 of the owner's manual for your 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk you need to place the transfer unit in the Neutral (N) position for flat towing. I recommend verifying this in your copy of the owner's manual.

Your RViBrake3 braking system is similar to the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. These braking systems are designed to apply the brakes on flat towed vehicles that are turned off and don't have the assistance of the hydraulics so your braking system will be just fine for your Trailhawk.

A complete flat towing setup includes a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. I know you already have some of these parts but if you are missing some of these components just let me know and I can make some additional recommendations for you.
