How To Install a Tekonsha Brake Controller and 7-Way on a 2011 Ford E-350
Question:
Hi. I just ordered a powertrac brake harness from you guys. Now I realize I need harnesses. It is a 2011 Ford 350 super duty e-van. I did find the brake controller harness behind the stereo but am unsure what to do on the hitch end where I would want to plug my 7 wire plug. Also I will need the harness from powertrac controller to that plugged behind radio. Please advise

In order to install the Tekonsha PowerTrac Electronic Brake Controller part # 39523 on your 2011 Ford E-350 you will need to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3034-P. As you mentioned, the vehicle side plug that this harness will attach to is located behind the coin tray in the center dash panel which you can see in the attached video.
In regards to the 7-way trailer wiring harness at the rear, there is not a single plug for this unless your 2011 Ford E-350 came with the factory 7-way which it does not sound like this is the case. In order to install a 7-way you will first need a 4-way if you do not already have one, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56020. Then, we can use the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185 along with part # 12-2-1 to complete our install. The part # 12-2-1 will need to be ran from the 7-way up to the battery/brake controller. I have attached an install video on this for you as well.
