Difference Between Draw-Tite Hitch and Curt Hitch for 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

Question:

Can you tell me what the main differences are between the Drawtite DT82QR and the Curt C13416 trailer hitches? They are both listed to fit a 2019 Toyota RAV4 hybrid but only the Curt is listed as a possibility when I search for available hitches for my car - but both seem to fit the car. I am primarily interested in ground clearance. There are no pictures of the Drawtite model intalled on a 2019 Toyata RAV4 but there are pictures of the Curt installed and it appears to have a negative impact on ground clearance. Thanks much.

First, just to clarify, both the Draw-Tite # DT82QR Trailer Hitch and the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13416 are a fit for your 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

As for the differences, there are very few, and the installation of either hitch will have some small impact on ground clearance. I added side-by-side photos that show these hitches installed on a RAV4 and they will create a point lower to the ground than if you did not have a hitch, though it should not be enough to impact your vehicle.

The two hitches are otherwise essentially the same, with both installing on the side of your car's frame rails by simply bolting on, so you don't have to drill. The Curt hitch is assembled in the USA while the Draw-Tite is not, but otherwise the only real difference is the capacity, with the Draw-Tite # DT82QR having a 4,500 lb towing capacity and 675 lb tongue weight capacity while the Curt # C13416 has a 4,000 lb towing capacity and 600 lb tongue weight capacity.
