Recommendation for 2009 Acura MDX Trailer Wiring Harness and Brake Controller
Question:
2009 Acura MDX Trailer Wiring Harness Hello Ive purchased a travel trailer that uses a 7 pin connector presumably to control the trailer brakes. What wiring harness do I need to purchase in order to hook up to the trailer? Thanks

For your 2009 Acura MDX you will start with a 4-way trailer connector if you don't already have one. I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118424 which plugs into the factory wiring harness located behind the trim panel on the driver's side. I've attached a video to assist. This harness has a slightly better reputation than the Curt # C56038 which is also a fit.
Then I recommend using the brake controller wiring kit # ETBC7 which will give you the 7-way connector as well as the wiring, connectors, and circuit breakers needed to hardwire a brake controller like # TK90160 for trailer brake function.
If you prefer a clean dash and a mobile app, then you can instead use # ETBC7L for the wiring kit and then the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180. This is quickly becoming the most popular brake controller.
