GCWR of 2016 Ford F-150 Super Cab With 5.0L Engine and 3.55 Axle Ratio

Question:

I am looking to do a trailer and would like to do hitch etc from you WDH. my truck 2016 F150 Super crew 3.55 rear 5.0 V8 inside my door is a sticker but there is NOT any mention of the GCWR. the owners manual provided by Ford does not list the 5.0 V8 FFV. The book shows the turbo version only. GVWR is 7050# Front GAWR 3525# Rear GAWR 3800# do you know where I might find the info I need? many thanks for your help. as you can imagine, the rv place is overestimating and thankfully i am smart enough to realize it.

I looked in the online version of the owner's manual for a 2016 Ford F-150 and according to that your GCWR will be one of four, depending on if you have a 2-wheel drive, 4-wheel drive, and your wheelbase. For a 2WD with a 145 inch wheelbase your GCWR will be 15,200 lbs, or 15,300 lbs for a 163 inch wheelbase.

For a 4WD your GCWR will be 14,400 lbs for a 145 inch wheelbase or 14,500 lbs for a 163 inch wheelbase. I strongly recommend verifying this by contacting your local Ford dealer with your VIN; they will be able to tell you exactly what your GCWR is.

The trailer hitch I recommend for your truck is the Curt Trailer Hitch # C86HR because it is a simple bolt-on installation that does not require drilling into your F-150's frame and when used with weight distribution has a 10,000 lb towing capacity and 1,000 lb tongue weight capacity. Without weight distribution the capacities are 6,000 lbs towing and 900 lbs tongue weight.

For a weight distribution system I strongly recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET because this system has 4 points of sway control via friction in the spring bars and head unit which ensure the best possible sway resistance. It also uses clamp-on brackets so you won't have to drill along your trailer frame, and allows you to back up with the system on.

Our customers who have used this system regard it very highly, with nearly 400 reviews as of this writing it has averaged close to 5 out of 5 stars (as you can see on the product page). This system comes with everything you need for installation though it is recommended you use thin-walled socket # EQ70-00-4800 to help install the hitch ball.

I have added links to video reviews for you to take a look at.
