Determining Correct Axle Placement for Tandem Axle Trailer
Question:
I need to install a 7500 lb tandem axle, is there a formula to follow? I don’t currently have the measurements of the springs. Step by step instructions from start to finish would be appreciated, I understand the difficulty given the lack of measurements. Thank you for your time.

I have attached a great article below that details the formula needed to determine proper axle placement on a trailer. When doing this you basically need to make sure that they are located in a position that puts 10 to 15 percent of the trailer's total weight on the tongue. Before actually installing anything you will definitely want to do some mock ups to figure out where everything is going to go.
