Hitch Recommendation for Using Kuat NV Bike Rack with 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon

Question:

According to FAQ, it reads If you hitch is an OEM type from Subaru you may need to use a Yakima carrier instead. These OEM hitches have their hitch pin hole placed very near the end of the receiver tube and some racks will not work. If you have an OEM hitch I suggest instead the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack # Y02445, which includes locks. and then When we installed Class II hitch # 36493 on your car we found there was 5-inches from the hitch pin hole to the rear edge of the bumper cover so this means youd want a rack with 7-inches or more of clearance. A great choice for your car is Kuats NV 2 Bike Platform Rack # NV12G. Would Kuats NV 2 bike rack work for OEM subaru hitch? or are you saying that it only works well with non-ohm hitch you mentioned.

The factory 1-1/4 inch hitches on the 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon are made strangely and not every bike rack will fit them well which is why we recommend the Yakima Holdup part # Y02445 which we know will fit. Now if you go with an aftermarket hitch like the Draw Tite # 76227 that allows you to basically install whichever rack you wanted. For example the Kuat NV part # NV22G that you referenced would fit and work well in this hitch. If this is the rack you are wanting (I don't blame you), then the Draw Tite is the way to go.

Once installed only the hitch opening is visible below the rear bumper and it doesn't require a stabilizer strap like the Curt does when carrying a non-supported load.
