Power Drive Jack Recommendation for a 1987 4 Star 6 Horse Slant 13,500 lb GVWR Trailer

Question:

I have a 1987 4Star horse trailer with GVWR 13500 - 6 horse slant I recently purchased. Would this jack be the right one for such a trailer or is there a better electric or hydralic for this trailer? We will rarely be carring 6 horses usually just two since we will be taking carriages and making a a rough living quarters once the carraiges are unloaded..

I would recommend going with the Bulldog Square Jack, # BD182815, or the Bulldog Square Jack, # BD182805. These jacks will both work with the Bulldog Powered-Drive Kit, # BD1824200100, that you referenced and feature 10,000 lbs of lift capacity. These are the best heavy duty jacks we carry at this time, and we do not have a hydraulic trailer jack option available.

The main difference between these two jacks is that one has a side facing plunger pin at the base and the other has a forward facing plunger pin. You will need to select the one that is oriented in the most accessible position for installation in your trailer.

The lift capacity of the jack you select needs to meet or exceed the weight the jack will actually be lifting, not the gross weight of the trailer.
