Will SportRack Roof Rack Work on 2012 Mazda 2 Hatchback to Carry Canoe
Question:
Would I need any adapters or anything for this roof rack on a 2012 mazda 2 hatchback or will it work straight up? Do these roof racks have load stops available? Im hoping to put a canoe on it. I have also seen the foam blocks being used on top of a roof rack. Would that work just as well as a load stop? Thanks

The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack # SR1010 will work straight-up without any adapters on your 2012 Mazda 2 hatchback and allow you to carry a canoe, so long as you remain under its 130 lb weight capacity.
There are canoe carriers you can use that work as loadstops; foam blocks are an option as well but do not offer the same type of security which is why I strongly recommend the Malone BigFoot Pro Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs # MPG112MD.
The Malone carrier uses brackets which are loadstops for your canoe to keep it firmly entrenched on the roof of your Mazda. You only need to tighten the carrier to your SportRack roof rack and use the included load straps and bow/stern tie-downs on your canoe.
Using the SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack # SR1010 and Malone BigFoot Pro Canoe Carrier # MPG112MD together will give you a secure and economical way to haul your canoe with your 2012 Mazda 2 Hatchback.
I have added links to video reviews of the rack and carrier for you to check out.
