How to Find the Cold Side if the Brake Switch on 1997 Dodge Van  

Question:

I have everything connected and wired besides the red wire from my brake controller. I don’t see a brake switch at the top of my brake pedal. 1997 Dodge B3500/ram 3500 van.

If you are installing a brake controller such as the Primus IQ # TK90160 with Installation Kit for Brake Controllers # ETBC7 you can find the cold side of the brake switch on your 1997 Dodge Van with Circuit Tester # PTW2979.

The cold side of the brake switch will be the wire above your brake pedal that only shows power when the brake pedal is pushed down; through trial and error you can find that wire by utilizing the circuit tester.
