It sounds like your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 may have its red trigger wire connected to the wrong wire at your brake light switch.
This red wire should connect to the wire on the Envoy's brake light switch that carries power only when you press the pedal. There are other wires at the brake light switch that will carry power all the time and it is easy to accidentally connect the wrong one.
The best way to find the correct vehicle wire to connect to the red controller wire is to use a circuit tester like # PTW2992 or a multimeter like # PT89ZR to find the one wire that carries power ONLY when you're pressing the brake pedal. This change to the vehicle wiring connection should take care of it.
