Since trunk mount bike racks must be removed each and every time the trunk is opened I highly recommend going with a hitch mounted bike rack. I know you said you don't have a trailer hitch on your 2010 Mercedes-Benz C300 but we have everything you need to easily carry your bike while also being able to seamlessly access the trunk on your Sedan.
The only trailer hitch that is available for your vehicle is the Curt Class I # C11030 with the 1-1/4" receiver. Because this is a Class I trailer hitch you are limited to carrying 2 bikes max (which works out for you) and Curt recommends using their stabilizer strap # 18050 to help keep the bike rack stable.
The for the bike rack I recommend the Kuat Transfer # KU74FR. This is a great bike rack because is only weighs 47 lbs (which is on the lighter end for a 2 bike rack), it has a step-through frame for easily loading/unloading your bike(s), and it has the ability to tilt for easy trunk access with your bike(s) loaded. The carrier comes with a limited lifetime warrant.
OutWay # TH45JV mainly because of how quick and easy it is to install and remove. It only uses 2 rubber coated straps (which are still as secure as 6) and it incorporates both bike and rack locks which means less parts you have to mess with.
Attached are some review and installation videos that you can reference as well.
