How to Wire 7-Way Vehicle Socket by Function
Question:
I have a 7 blade connector Im replacing and I have 6 whiresi know where the 4 go green yellow white and brown but I have a black and a white white a grey casing around it dont know where they go

I can see from your photo that your 7-way wiring has heavier-gauge black and white wires. In 7-way setups typically these will be +12V auxiliary power (black) and ground (white). Those wires need to be thicker than the other wires for lights.
You can refer to the photo of a 7-way socket like # 37185 to see how the various circuits are arranged for the RV wiring format. Since the actual wire colors may not always match the diagram you will want to make your connections based on these functions, not the wire colors. This is the standard circuit arrangement used for boat trailers and campers.
