Is There A Trailer Hitch for 2003 Workhorse W-Series to Flat Tow 2014 Chevy Silverado Double Cab

Question:

I have a 2003 Winn Brave W30 with a workhorse chassis. It has a trailer hitch rated at 5000 lb. I would like to tow my 2014 Chevy 4X4 Silverado double cab. I havent been able to find the tow capacity of my RV. If I can, do you carry an upgrade hitch for my unit?

While there is not a hitch that is a fit for a 2003 Workhorse W-Series Chassis you may still be able to flat tow your 2014 Chevy Silverado 1400 Double Cab as yours may be under the 5,000 lb curb weight, though you should verify this before attempting to tow it.

If you do find you can tow your '14 Silverado there are a number of things you are going to need, which I'll list for you:

- Base Plate Kit: Demco Classic Base Plate Kit # DM9518200
- Tow Bar: Demco Excali-Bar III Non-Binding Tow Bar # DM9511013
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766
- Supplemental Braking System: SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 OR if your motorhome has air brakes: SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243

Base plates are vehicle-specific and the Demco Classic are a fit for your '14 Silverado and give your car a clean look. The Excali-Bar tow bar is a great option because it has long arms which make it easier to maneuver when towing, along with integrated safety cables and an adjustable, tilting head so a high-low adapter won't be needed. Having these features on a tow bar means you won't have to purchase them separately, saving you additional expenses.

The Flexo-Coil wiring kit is designed to prevent any type of electrical feedback to keep your Silverado's electrical system safe, and since you need to disconnect your truck's battery, the disconnect switch will make this much easier.

The SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO as well as the SMI Air Force One supplemental braking systems are strongly recommended because they not only give you effective braking, but are a one-time install which will never require any type of removal or reactivation.

I have added links to video reviews and installs for you to check out as well.
