Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2019 Toyota Sienna for Ground Clearance

Question:

Hello, I need a hitch for my 2019 Sienna. My dealer installed a draw tite 75327. It’s horrible a bottoms out. Looking at your videos, I was going to go with E98853 because your video states that this model has th most ground clearance. So I was going to go that route, but see it is not in stock and has an April 29 ship date. Do you have any other recommendations? Is the Curtis C13343 the same as etrailer E98853- just rebadged as am etrailer with Matt finish? If so, maybe I will purchase the Curtis model since the E98853 is out of stock. Or do have any another other commendations? Again, I need the greatest ground clearance.

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2019 Toyota Sienna is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76112 because if you plan on towing, this hitch is rated for weight distribution and the similar hitches are not.

When we test fit the Draw-Tite Hitch # 76112, Curt Hitch # C13343, etrailer.com Hitch # E98853 and EcoHitch # 306-X7255 on a 2019 Toyota Sienna we found that each of them have 13 inches of ground clearance, and with the exception of the EcoHitch, have a 525 lb tongue weight capacity (the EcoHitch is 350 lbs) and 3,500 lb towing capacity.

The only difference really is that the Draw-Tite is rated for use with weight distribution, which can be an important factor if you plan on doing any towing with your van so it's what I recommend. You can also see from the accompanying photo of this hitch and your current hitch how different it will look and how much more clearance you will have.

I have added links to install videos of each of these hitches on a 2019 Sienna for you to check out.

If you do plan on towing and need a wiring harness the most reliable option is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118648 for non-SE models or # 118498 if your Sienna is an SE model.

I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop – along with a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip.

You can use the link to the help article on ball mounts I've added to determine if this kit will give you the correct amount of drop or rise.
