Dimensions of Curt Gooseneck Balls C60616 and C60603

Question:

I have a 93 Ford F-250 with overload springs and I installed the Curt double lock gooseneck hitch without any issues straight into the OEM holes just as the directions stated but when I was finished installing it I discovered that when the ball is facing down in the hiddeninch position I only have about 2inch between the ball and my rear stabilizer bar. So my question is about the overall length of the ball and shaft because Im wondering if I didnt get the high rise ball by mistake? The ball I have is the original one that came with my hitch but if I put any kind of weight at all in the bed the hitch will hit my stabilizer bar and cause some serious issues.

Your Curt Gooseneck Hitch # C60723 should have shipped with standard gooseneck ball # C60616. The High-Rise Ball is part # C60603. I measured both hitch balls in our warehouse; their tip to tip lengths are 8-3/4-inches for standard ball # C60616 and 9-1/2-inches for High-Rise Ball # C60603.

I spoke to one of our tech contacts at Curt and he reviewed their engineering drawing for the hitch installation on your 1993 F-250 with overload springs. Their documentation showed no stabilizer bar in the vicinity of the ball hole. Is it possible that your stabilizer is aftermarket or a dealer-installed option?

If the ball will not store correctly in the hitch you might store it elsewhere and cover the ball receptacle with cover # C66165.
