Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Brake Circuit Signal that Stopped Working After 7-Way Replacement
Question:
When putting a new pig tail on a trailer with brakes, that all had worked right including brakes. The old one was yanked and broken. The new 7 wire plug works all the lights but the truck is not picking up the trailer to work the brakes. What could have happened?

Since the trailer is no longer able to recognize a trailer connection the issue is most likely that the brake output circuit of the wiring was damaged when the old one was yanked out. This is a fairly common issue so you'll need to go over the wiring looking for any shorts or broken wire and fix as needed.
