7-Way Trailer Connector Brake Controller Output Wire on 2017 Ford F-150 XLT
Question:
Which wire on 2017 f 150 xlt hooks to electric break on 7 pin plug

It sounds like you are connecting wires to an aftermarket 7-way on your 2017 F-150. There are two wires run from under the hood to the end of the driver's side frame rail. One is a blue wire which is the electric trailer brake output wire that will need to be run to the 5 o'clock pin on your 7-way. The other wire is the hot 12V wire that will be run to the 1 o'clock position. You will need to have a short wire added from that frame rail to the 7-way, so I recommend using # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot and then connectors # DW05745-5.
If these wires aren't present on your vehicle then I recommend using the wiring kit # 5506 to run the wires direct. I've attached a video of this installation to assist. If you don't already have the 7-way connector, then use kit # ETBC7.
