How to Attach the Reese Multi-Plug Wiring Harness to the Trailer Hitch Without Drilling

Question:

With two included self tapping screws, in the directions it makes sound like those are used to mount the bracket to the bottom of your tow bar. Is that correct?

The two self tapping screws included with the Reese Multi-Plug Wiring Harness part # 74682 will allow you to attach the trailer connector directly to your trailer hitch if needed but I don't really recommend this as you can weaked it and increase the chance of rust occurring. If there is a body panel or bumper that you can drill into nearby then that would be a better option than drilling into the hitch but the best option is a no-drill bracket like the No-Drill Mount Bracket part # 18136 which will allow you to mount the 7-way on the trailer hitch without weakening it or increasing the chance for rust.

I have attached a photo of the above set up for you as well.
