We do have a 4-pole flat trailer connector for the 2019 Volkswagen Golf GTI Rabbit with Curt 4-pole flat part # C56405. We installed the Curt wiring harness on a 2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI. Since the 2019 GTI Rabbit is just a trim package upgrade, the wiring harness fits the same. I have attached a video for your reference.
If you need a hitch for the Rabbit, I recommend EcoHitch part # 306-X7375. The EcoHitch's cross tube is completely hidden behind the rear bumper. The square hitch receiver is the only portion of the hitch visible when the hitch is in use. When you are not using the hitch, you can unbolt the hitch receiver from the cross tube so the hitch is completely out of sight when you look at the rear bumper of the vehicle.
The EcoHitch features a 2 inch receiver opening you can use accessories with a 2 inch shank or a 2 inch ball mount to tow a small trailer compared to other hitches available for your vehicle that have a 1-1/4 inch opening. There a lot more options for accessories that have 2 inch shanks. Although the hitch opening is 2 inches, the hitch is still rated for 300 lbs of tongue weight. You want to check your owners manual as well to see how much the Rabbit can tow because it could be lower than what the hitch is rated for.
Since the Rabbit sits so low to the ground, you most likely need a ball mount with a rise in order to tow the trailer level. To find out how much rise, measure from the ground to the top of the receiver hitch opening. Then measure from the bottom of the coupler to the ground. Subtract the vehicle's measurement from the trailer measurement. The difference in the measurement is how much rise you need. I have attached a link of the ball mounts and hitch balls available. You need a pin and clip to pin the ball mount into the hitch part # C21500.
Another option is to purchase a ball mount kit part # 989900 it has 2 ball mounts with different rises and the pin and clips you need to pin the ball mount into the hitch. It also comes with a handy storage bag.
