Is Reprogramming Required for a Trailer Wiring Harness On a Jeep JL Wrangler Sahara
Question:
Do I have to have the Jeep reprogrammed after wire harness installation

I am not aware of the Jeep JL Wrangler Sahara ever requiring reprogramming after the installation of a trailer wiring harness. This was an issue on select Jeep Grand Cherokees but not the Jeep JL Wranglers to my knowledge. With that being said if you are using a singular pre-wired tow package port/plug then there is a possibility that reprogramming of the vehicle's ECU is required. However, if you are using a hardwire harness like the Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit part # C59496 or a plug-in kit that attaches behind the tail lights like the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118786 then NO reprogramming of the vehicle's ECU is required.
If you have a 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Sahara then the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118786 is a confirmed fit and what I recommend using. If you have a different year Jeep JL Wrangler Sahara then please let me know and I will see if we have another plug-in harness for you.
