Class S Cable Tire Chain Recommendation for a 2005 Acura MDX with 235/65-17 Tires

Question:

Hi, I have a 2005 Acura MDX and will be travelling this winter to the Sierras in CA where chains are often required. The manual states to only use SAE Class Sfoot cablr-type traction devices with rubber chain tensionersinch and only put them on the front tires. Do you sell this type of chain? What is the model number?

Expert Reply:

First, we carry chains for the 2005 Acura MDX with a tire size of 235/65-17. If you have a different size, let me know what it is. A Class S chain will require 15mm or less clearance around the tire. For compatible cable type of chains, use # PW1046. the rubber tensioners are #PW105. I have included a link to a video review of the chains for you. I have also included a link to our tire chain FAQ article.
