Best Theft Deterrent for B&W Companion in 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Question:
Given how much these hitches cost, do people ever steal them and re-sell them? If so, how would I lock this thing down?

Expert Reply:
Fifth wheel hitches get stolen from time to time, sure, although you can realistically say the same thing about almost any product that has value (and even some things that don't). They are heavy and a thief would have to know what they are doing and it wouldn't be the quietest of things to steal so there isn't a huge risk of a hitch getting taken but it isn't impossible.
There is a way to secure the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500-5W (Fixed Hitch) or # BWRVK3400-5W (Sliding Hitch) in your truck, even though there is not a specific way to lock it when mounted to the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion # BWGNRK1111-5W in your 2011 Ford F-250 or F-350 Super Duty.
The best theft deterrent to prevent the Companion from getting stolen is a hard tonneau cover, the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau Cover # EX84720 for a 6-3/4 foot bed or part # EX84725 for an 8 foot bed.
