Best Trailer Hitch for a 2012 Volkswagen Golf TDI That Doesn't Require a Support Strap

Question:

Hi. I just bought another 2012 Golf TDI. The first one I installed the Curt 11000 hitch my review and pics are still on your site but was disappointed that it required use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a bike rack. Does the Draw Tite #24825 also require the strap when using a rack? I dont see it in your description.

The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24825 which is a fit for your 2012 Volkswagen Golf TDI does not require you to use the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap part # 18050 like the other option we have for you will, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11000. The Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap is required for a Curt class I hitch and recommended for a Curt class II hitch when using a hitch mounted accessory but has nothing to do with the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver so you will not need it.

I have attached an install video of the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver for you as well as a photo but the process will be the same as the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver.
