How To Carry a Spare Tire on a 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 Cab and Chassis
Question:
I have a Leisure Travel Van, MB Sprinter based RV. There is a Curt 13275 hitch installed. I want to install a road master spare tire holder. The hitch is almost 3 inches too far under the rear bumper. Is there a hitch with a longer reach I could use?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13275 is the only trailer hitch available for a 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 Cab and Chassis. However, the Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier w/ 2" Receiver Opening part # RM-195225 may still work for you. In order to determine if this is possible you will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the RV. If this distance is less than 10" then you can use the Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier w/ 2" Receiver Opening without any issues but if this distance is more than 10" then you will need to consider other options like a front mount hitch and hitch mount spare tire carrier.
For a front mount trailer hitch I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7352 and for a hitch mount spare tire carrier I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier part # C31006. The EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver is a custom fit so no drilling is required. This will be the only option we have for you to store your spare tire. I have attached a photo of this combo used on a similar set up for you.
