Compatibility of Yakima Roof Rack System with Dual Sun Roof on 2012 Hyundai Sonata
Question:
I have a 2012 Hyundia Sonata with a dual sunroof, therefore the roof is glass. What removeable roof rack system will work for my car?

According to our friends at Yakima, they offer a roof rack system compatible with your vehicle that can be constructed using the following parts:
Round 58 inch CrossBars, part # Y00409
BaseLine Towers, part # Y28TR
Round Bar SL Adapter, part # Y03536
BaseClip Fit Kit, part # Y06144
BaseClip Fit Kit, part # Y06153
The towers will sit just above the doors, and will be located to the outside of the roof edge molding. Therefore, they will come into contact with the metal portion of the roof, not the glass.
My contact at Yakima went on to say that although the sunroof will clear the crossbars once they are installed, the sunroof should not be opened when anything is placed on the roof racks without verifying that the sunroof will have clearance. Failure to verify this can cause damage to the sunroof.
