Is Additional Price of Equal-I-Zer Weight Distribution Worth It Over Curt TruTrack

Question:

So just out of curiosity, if I hadn't mentioned any brand of WDH, what would you recommend for my situation? Money not being an object, a 14 year old half ton truck (one owner, great condition) towing within 1k of GCVW.

Equal-I-Zer weight distributions systems are well worth the additional money over the Curt TruTrack. The TruTrack is a less expensive replica of the Equal-I-Zer systems that we've found just don't work quite as well. I know it's a bit pricey but the part # EQ37100ET is your better option. This will perform better for a much longer time than the Curt so it's worth it. Overall the Equal-I-Zer kits just use higher quality components.

This is a fun question! I tend to favor the Strait Line weight distributions systems although there is great debate which is better between the Strait Line and the Equal-i-Zer kits. I prefer the Strait Line kits because they use a proactive sway control that works to fight sway before it starts. Basically the system is always trying to force the trailer to be as straight as possible which is really effective at dealing with sway. For the weight of your trailer the part # RP66084 would be what you want. It has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs. For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
