Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for Cargo Area Access on a 2016 Ford Transit T150
Question:
I have a 2016 ford transit 150 cargo van. I want to use your bolt-on hitch and install the thule rack. Will I be able to open the rear van doors when the rack tilts away?

The bolt-on custom fit hitch you need for your 2016 Ford Transit T150 is Draw-Tite part # 75912 Class III hitch receiver. The Draw-Tite hitch does not require drilling and will bolt to the frame of the Transit. The Draw-Tite is the best option for a bike rack because it does not require the use of a stabilization strap.
We do have bike racks that allow you to open the doors of the 2016 Ford Transit T150 but the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058 will not provide the clearance that you need. The Thule Camber 2 bike rack part # TH90058 is too close even when it's tilted. The rear van doors will hit the tilting mechanism of the bike rack when it is in the tilted away position.
The best option that allows full access to the cargo area of the Transit is a swing away rack. The SportRack Ridge swinging bike part # SR2415 allows you access to the cargo area because the bike rack swings outward. The best feature of the SportRack is the bikes can stay on the bike rack when you swing the bike rack away. You will not have to unload the bicycles each time you need access to the cargo area. If your bikes have a slanted top tube on the frame you may need an adapter bar to allow the bikes to hang evenly on the rack. I recommend Swagman adapter bar part # 64005 because it is the most cost effective.
I have attached a video of the Draw-Tite hitch, adapter bar and SportRack bike rack for you.
