Trailer Hub Recommendation that Fits Spindle Dimensions 1.378 and 1.25 inch

Question:

Hello, I have Hudson HSE 16 trailer that Im renovating: I intend to put on new 12inch hubs and breaks on the existing axles. The bearing currently on existing axles are L68149 inner diameter 1.378/depth 0.625/ and LM 67048 inner diameter 1.25inch / depth 0.625inch . It Looks as through your dexter hub and drum assembly 8-201-5uc3-ez will fit on the spindle if I replace one of the races to fit the L68149 bearing. The race part # I believe would be L68110. Can you confirm this would be my best option? Ill also buy 2 sets of self adjusting brakes AKEBRK-7-sa and new wheels AM20308 since I have new 7 x 14.5inch trailer tires currently fitted onto the exisiting mobile home rim/drums and want to keep them. If you have other suggestions please lets me know. thanks, asked by: Andy M Helpful Expert Reply: The only trailer hub and drum assembly we have available that will fit your existing spindles is the Redline # 8-407-5UC3-EZ. This is a 10 inch hub with a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern designed for 4,400 pound hubs. The 12 inch Dexter Trailer Hub # 8-201-5UC3-EZ that you referenced will not fit the spindles on your trailer because the inner bearing it uses is much too large. This particular hub uses the # 25580 inner bearing that has a 1.75 inch inner diameter compared to the 1.378 inch inner diameter on an # L68149 bearing that your spindles are compatible with. The only way to upgrade to larger 12 inch hubs on your trailer will be to also replace your axles and spindles. I have attached a link that will take you to our available ion if this is something you are okay doing. You will need to take a measurement of both the hub face length and spring seat length on your existing axles to ensure a compatible replacement. helpful expert reply by: Chris R Chris, I have 12inch breaks and hubs presently. They attached to the axle with five bolts. How do I attach a 10inch break assembly to my axle. Also, will race L68110 convert the 12 dexter hub above to L68149 bearing. This seems a lot cheaper than buying new axle, breaks and hub

Since the spindle dimensions on your trailer match what the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-5UC3-EZ fits this hub will fit and work well. No need to swap out races. The other parts you mentioned for your mobile home should work too but you'll need to verify that the drums on the axles are 7 inch diameter.
