Trailer Hitch Mounted Folding Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander
Question:
Just wondering if this cargo carrier will fold up without hitting the back of a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander LS that will have a Curt hitch installed. I plan to buy the hitch from you, but dont know if I should/can ask for the folding cargo carrier too. From the pic the 3.5 inch clearance might not be enough on the Outlander. Thank you for your time!

We have actually installed the Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13581, on a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. When installed, our team of installers measured the distance from the hitch pin hole center to the rear edge of the bumper to be approximately 2 inches (see video).
When folded up, the etrailer Cargo Carrier, # e98874, measures 9-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest edge of the carrier. That would leave plenty of clearance between the vehicle and carrier when folded.
You can also easily add lights to the carrier use kit # e98943-44LED. I have included a link to a video review of this carrier for you.
To use the lights, you would need a 4-Way trailer connector on the Outlander, # 118518. I have included links to the installation details and a video showing a typical installation for you.
