Question:
Will this hitch fit the 3.0R model 6 cylinder?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 75560 referenced in your question is a confirmed fit for the 3.0R model 2006 Subaru Outback wagon. The different trim style and interior upgrades on the 3.0R do not affect the hitch fit at the rear of the vehicle.
This Class III hitch will use existing holes in the Outback's frame for no-drill installation and will provide you with a 2 inch receiver that has a 4,000 pound towing weight capacity and a 400 pound tongue weight limit. I do still recommend verifying the towing weight capacity of the vehicle itself by checking your copy of the owner's manual. You will just need to follow whichever limit is lower, the vehicle's or the hitch's.
I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
