Can Brakes of 2004 Jayco Eagle 1406 Be Converted to Electric
Question:
I have a 2004 jayco eagle 1406 that Im looking to replace the surge brakes with electric brakes. Wondering if these would work. Also wondering if I can reuse the original drum/hub assemblies. Thanks

The drums you have currently can certainly be used with electric trailer brake assemblies. The key is picking out the correct size that you need as a replacement. If you take off the drums and measure the inside diameter and find that it's 7 inches this kit part # AKEBRK-2 will fit and work well. This is a common size for pop up trailer so this is most likely what you'd need. To wire up the assemblies you'll want 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot).
I attached a link to a help article that covers adding electric brakes to a trailer for you to check out as well.
