Trailer Hitch, Wiring Harness and Brake Controller Recommendation for 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8
Question:
Hi, I just bought a ‘15 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. I don’t believe it came with any tow hook ups. I’d like to know what Harness I’ll need that will give me a 7 blade connection. Also a recommendation for a tow hitch as well? It’s an SRT so I’m not sure if that matters all that much.

Let's start with a trailer hitch and for your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 the best option for towing is the Curt # C13182 because it has the highest capacity for hitches that fit your Jeep and it is a complete bolt-on installation that will not require any drilling. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver and has a 6,000 lb towing capacity and 600 lb tongue weight capacity. It is also made in the USA and comes with a lifetime warranty.
To add a 7-way to your '15 Grand Cherokee the first thing you need to do is install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118727, which will fit your Jeep since it does not have a tow package. After that you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which will give you a 7- and 4-way trailer connector, circuit breakers and the rest of the hardware needed to install the 7-way and a brake controller.
The brake controller I highly recommend for your '15 Grand Cherokee is the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR because it is both highly effective and keeps a bulky unit out of the cab of your Jeep.
The Redarc uses a small control knob you can mount wherever is convenient, as you can see by the accompanying photo of the knob mounted in a '15 Grand Cherokee. If you would like to mount it elsewhere there is even a Universal Mounting Panel for Control Knob # 331-TPSI-001 you can use. The knob not only keeps the main unit out of sight, but also makes the controller very easy to use. The Tow Pro brake controller is proportional, meaning it responds to your Jeep's deceleration for responsive braking.
I have added links to a number of videos which should be helpful, including installs of the hitch, 4-way and brake controller.
