Unfortunately I can't find the exact towing capacity of your truck, but here is how you determine the towing capacity of your specific truck. Inside the driver's door jamb there will be a sticker that states the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of your truck as well as the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR). From the GCWR you can subtract the curb weight (actual weight not capacity) of your truck to determine the GVWR of the trailer you can tow.

Then you will want to make sure your towing components are rated for the capacity. For instance on your 2005 Chevy Silverado you will need to select the drop down for 1500 or 2500 with your short bed and you'll have options that are rated separate from your vehicle. You will then need to determine which custom fit hitch is best for your desired application. I've linked the page to all your options for that model year to assist.
