Adding Brake Flanges to Add Brakes to UltraTow 5x8 Aluminum Frame Trailer
Question:
I want to add electric brakes to my UltraTow 5x8 Aluminum Trailer. I dont think the brake mounting flange recommended there is correct. I think it should need a 5 on 4 1/2 flange. I think Id like to keep my existing axle. Any chance I could get a parts list and any tips you might have for getting this done?

I can tell by looking at your picture your axle is smaller in diameter so you'll need to verify it's capacity and diameter so we can pick out the correct brake flange. Looking at the wheel size and bolt pattern I'd predict you need the part # 4-35 which is a 4 bolt pattern but for a 3,500 lb axle. The 5 bolt flanges like # 4-44-1 are for 4,400 lb axles and higher.
I attached a link to a guide that will walk you through the process of adding brakes to a trailer too which you can use.
